I am a curious human being still charting the path to self discovery through my unique mix of unbridled passion and raw talent. As someone from a culture of gender barriers, my journey as a determined woman began in my teenage years in Saudi Arabia. It led to an MFA in Film & Electronic Media and a Ph.D. in Communications in the United States.
Today I make films that tell compelling stories and create art through amazing photos. The pit stops along my path have proved to be nothing less than extraordinary moments in social revelation.
In 2012, I wanted to tell the story of Saudi women taking empowerment into their own hands. My documentary "Saudi Women on the Steps on Change" was thus born, just as the world became focused on the intersection of social and political change in Muslim societies across the globe. It was screened in multiple film festivals in the U.S ( Chicago International Film Festival, IUPUI film festival). The film highlights the stories of pioneering Saudi women working at the helm of businesses, NGOs and social and educational organizations to bring gradual social change to their environments one step at a time.
